# StringArt3D

StringArt3D is a browser-based tool for turning photos or text into printable string art. It creates a 3D-printable frame and a thread-winding pattern, then exports printer-ready files for supported FDM printers.

## What the app does

- Converts photos into string-art line patterns.
- Renders spherical text art in text mode.
- Generates preview output in the browser before export.
- Exports Bambu-native `.gcode.3mf` packages for supported Bambu printers.
- Exports raw G-code for Generic G-code, selected dedicated printer paths, and bundled profile-derived printer paths through More printers.
- Keeps uploaded photos and entered generation text local to the browser.

## Current creation modes

### Image mode

Image mode accepts a user-uploaded image, crop and zoom settings, shape selection, detail selection, and optional image tuning. The app converts the image into a string-art path and printable frame.

### Text mode

Text mode renders user text into a spherical wrap, then sends the generated raster through the same string-art solver and export pipeline. Text mode is ring-only in the current version and requires account-based Premium for export.

## Supported printers and files

StringArt3D currently focuses on PLA with `0.4 mm` nozzles.

Bambu-native `.gcode.3mf` targets:

- Bambu Lab P2S
- Bambu Lab P1S
- Bambu Lab X1 Carbon
- Bambu Lab A1
- Bambu Lab A1 mini
- Bambu Lab H2S
- Bambu Lab H2C
- Bambu Lab H2D

Raw G-code targets:

- Generic G-code
- Selected dedicated raw G-code targets
- More printers: bundled 0.4 mm FFF profile-derived G-code

## Pricing and access

- The core generator can be used without signing in for personal, non-commercial use.
- Premium is a one-time account-based lifetime license, not a recurring subscription or annual plan. It currently includes additional shapes, larger print sizes, text-mode export, future premium features, and commercial-use rights for output created with StringArt3D.
- Legacy browser-local access-code paths still exist for some early access and share-build flows, but text-mode export requires account-based Premium.

## Privacy

StringArt3D processes uploaded photos and entered generation text in the browser. The app does not upload user images or generation text to StringArt3D servers for conversion. Account, entitlement, payment fulfillment, and analytics data are handled separately as described in the Privacy Policy.
